The FSB will be in charge of developing and implementing a comprehensive system of detection, prevention and elimination of cyber-attacks on Russian news websites and telecommunications lines located in Russia and on the premises of its official diplomatic missions abroad.
The FSB will also draft recommendations for state agencies to make them less vulnerable for cyber intrusions and work on better coordination of online defense efforts.
The news follows a publication on a large-scale cyber spy network uncovered by Russia’s Kaspersky Lab, one of the world’s major online security firms.
