A press-conference on the 75th anniversary since Vladimir Vysotsky’s birthday took place in the regional art museum.

      To celebrate the jubilee it opened an exhibition of ideas as sketches that were sent by all those interested for 4 months. Altogether 16 applications are participating in the competition. Until February 25 museum visitors will have a chance to see the art works and vote for the best project.

      Before the beginning of March the regional centre will house a range of events dedicated to the poet’s memory.

      By the way Vladimir Vysotsky is one of the few Russians, monuments to whom have been set up overseas. A monument to the Soviet poet Vladimir Vysotsky was unveiled in Montenegro in 2002. In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk the Vysotsky monument is offered to be set up on the bank of Rogatka River not far from the Tourist Hotel.
