Eleven Nobel Laureates will be the plenary speakers in the upcoming summer of 2013 in St. Petersburg, at the largest international scientific forum in the history of modern Russia of the 38th Annual Congress of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), the president of the Russian Society of Biochemists and Molecular Biologists, representing Russia in FEBS, a member of RAS Alexander Gabibov said.

"FEBS Congress is among the five largest international forums in the field of life sciences and has a rich history. The only time the Soviet Union had the honor of holding it was in 1984 in Moscow. The upcoming Congress is accompanied with an unprecedented interest, the example of which is the increase in the number of Nobel Prize laureates who expressed a desire to participate in it. The other day 1989 laureate in chemistry Sidney Altman joined the list" - he said.

More than two thousand delegates will come to the upcoming academic forum, over 300 speakers from almost all the leading research centers in the world. By the order of the Government of the Russian Federation the Congress will be organized by the Ministry of Education and Science.
