The Struggle For the Golden Mask Begins On the Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre

"Golden Mask" festival has opened on January 28 at the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre. The first claimant for the National Theatre Award will be the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theatre that will present its ballet performance "Amore Buffo" on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre.


      

In total, 56 performances of 46 theatres in Russia were selected to participate in the contest of "Golden Mask". These works will be seen, as always, not only by the audience, but also by the two professional judges. The competitive "race" will run until April 15. On 16 April "Golden Mask" will name the winners. The solemn awarding ceremony will take place at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical Theatre. This ceremony will be the 19th in a row.
