Russian National Library of Petersburg has opened the exhibition Alive Legend of Museum Life.
It is dated for the 100 anniversary since the birth of the director of the Pavlovsk memorial estate – the outstanding restorer Anna Zelenova.
From 1941 to 1979 she was the permanent director of Pavlovsk ensemble. It was thanks to Zelenova that a unique monument of architecture was restored from ruins after war.
The exhibition for the first time displays documents from Anna Zelenova's personal archive: notes on architecture, municipal economy, organization of air-raid shelters, and gardening. A separate part of the exhibition under the title From Ashes and Ruins is dedicated to the history of Pavlovsk Memorial Estate, its restoration and preservation.
