BP and AAR have received a total of $1.4 billion in dividends from TNK-BP, which will bring down the price of the oil company when it is sold to Rosneft.
Rosneft will let the shareholders get the 2Q and 3Q 2012 dividends in exchange for a discount.
As a result, British BP will get $11.6 billion, $700 million less than the price initially agreed.
AAR is expected to get 27.3 billion instead of the original price of 28 billion.
According to a BP representative, the dividends will be stored on a special account until the deal with Rosneft is closed.
