Russia’s Liberal-Democratic Party wants films about Russia to be made by Russians.

According to the bill that it has submitted to the Russian parliament, only ‘national’ films can be produced on the country’s territory.

By ‘national’ Dmitry Litvintsev, the sponsor of the bill, means films where 70 percent of the crew are Russian citizens and at least 60 percent of funds comes from domestic investors.

The party claims the move will support Russian cinematography.
