The photo exhibition dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Saint Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra was opened on Wednesday in Moscow.
The exhibition to take place from February 6 to 18 in Sergey Andriyaka Water Color and Fine Arts Academy will present 46 photo works dedicted to architecture and history of Alexander Nevsky Lavra, as well as the modern life of the monastery.
The author of these historical pictures is Charles Bulla, who is considered “the father of the Russian photo report”. Bulla and his sons created a unique photo chronicle of events of the first half of the 20th century, including a historical image of Alexander Nevsky Lavra of the beginning of the last century before its ruin in the Soviet period. The author of these modern works is the pictorialist Mikhail Manin.
In the framework of the Festive Chorus of Alexander Nevsky Lavra will perform on February 15.
