Vostok Energy is looking for a new owner, with TNK-BP and Evrokhim being the most likely buyers.

According to Kommersant daily, the British gas company is now in talks with several potential owners.

Vostok Energy's assets include several natural gas deposits in the Saratov Region, with gas and condensate reserves estimated at 10 billion cubic meters and 2.2 million tons respectively.

With the price of the deal standing at $300 million, TNK-BP will need an approval of Rosneft, which could be not an easy job in view of the gigantic cash payments the Russian state-owned company will have to make to BP and AAR, the two major shareholders of TNK-BP.
