Sberbank has announced it will no longer work with American Express Travelers Checks.

Starting from March 1, 2013, Russia’s biggest lender will stop buying, selling and any other operations with American Express Travelers Checks, says the bank’s press release.

However, Sberbank says it will continue to work with American Express, a cooperation that has lasted since 1994. In 2008, Sberbank became the world leader in terms of checks sold, receiving more than a billion US dollars.
