Vnukovo Airport may take part in the reconstruction of Ermolino Airport, near Kaluga.

Vnukovo’s co-owner Vitaly Vantsev did not rule out that he may become a shareholder of the new terminal in Ermolino, 80km away from Moscow.

Until now, the facility has been largely used by the defense and emergencies ministries, but on January 10, 2013 the government gave the UTair airline company the green light to use it as its home airport.

The authorities plan to build a new runway and upgrade the existing one in Ermolino, expected to be launched for passenger flights in late 2014.
