Belarussian Bank Debuts on Moscow Bourse

Belarussian BPS-Sberbank became the first foreign lending institution to be admitted on the Moscow Stock Exchange. 

The Belarussian subsidiary of Russia’s Sberbank has made the debut as part of the drive to bring bourses of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan together.

Restrictions have been dropped to further consolidate the Eurasian Economic Space, an economic and customs arrangement established by the three countries.

Western banks can only trade on the Moscow Stock Exchange through their local subsidiaries.
