One More Nature Sanctuary Established in Rostov Region

A nature sanctuary has appeared in Krasny Sulin of the Rostov Region.

It is an oak which grows in the area of the Osinovsky Gully. The tree is more than 15 meters high and the girth of its trunk is 6.5 meters large. The tree was found by the local resident Alexander Kozyrev.

According to experts, the oak is around 500 years old.  It turns out, that the wonder tree is more than twice older than Krasny Sulin, which has become 215 years old this year.

Alexander Kozyrev addressed to the Council for Preservation of Natural Heritage. His appeal was considered there and the ancient oak was included in the Register of Old-age Trees of Russia. Alexander got a certificate about recognition of the tree as a nature monument.

By the way, it became clear that the crown of this giant is visible on the Krasny Sulin's map taken from the open space.
