Domodedovo Will Turn Into A University Town

Educational and sports cluster will be built in a small town Domodedovo near Moscow. There is a plan to place there the campuses of the five universities - Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Moscow University of Management, Moscow State Institute of Radio-engineering Electronics and Automation, Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute – as well as the Federal Centre for Sports Medicine and training bases for the World Football Championship in 2018.

In order to create a cluster about 40 hectares of land will be needed, and the construction of the school buildings and campuses will require about 45-60 billion rubles. The project will receive money from the budget of the Russian Federation, because all five universities have federal status. Also junior sports school and the Federal Centre for Sports Medicine are to be built in Domodedovo. The construction of the sports complex will take another 30-40 billion rubles. The multifunctional sports centre with training bases for the teams participating in the World Football Championship in 2018 will become the key object of the cluster.
