Five young researchers became the new laureates of the annual awards of the President of the Russian Federation for young scientists for their outstanding contributions to the development of science and innovation. They were honored the prizes for their work in the fields of biomedicine, organic synthesis, the study of elementary particles, the study of ancient Russian culture. The author of 60 scientific papers, the assistant professor of the St. Petersburg State University, Nadezhda Bokach was awarded for her achievements in the development of modern methods of organic synthesis with platinum group metals. The research officers of the Siberian Branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics Fedor Ignatov and Cornelia Todysheva got their prizes for their works on the properties of elementary particles. Their scientific conclusions form the basis for the implementation of the project of the new electron-positron collider. The professor of the Russian State Humanitarian University Andrey Usachev was awarded for his large contribution to the studies of ancient Russian books of XVI century. Finally, the head of the laboratory of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry Dmitri Chudakov was honored for his achievements in the field of development of genetically encoded fluorescent markers used in biomedicine. The results of his studies are widely used in basic and applied research in the fields of cell biology, neurobiology, immunology and oncology.
