Results of work in the field of registration of new plants in 2012 have been summed up in the Voronezh Nature Reserve. Last year they discovered nine new plants in the reserve.
By the way, one of the six new types of lichens was for the first time registered in the entire Central Chernozem Region. It was found in Voronezh Reserve by Evgenia Muchnik – a leading researcher of the Forestry Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Also three new species of vascular plants have been discovered - the press service of the Voronezh Nature Protection Biospheric Park reports.
In total 159 types of lichens and 1023 species of vascular plants have been registered in the Voronezh Nature Reserve as of January 1, 2013.
