Alexander Bashlachev Monument to Appear in Cherepovets

Monument to the well-known Russian rock singer and songwriter Alexander Bashlachev will be set up in the city of Cherepovets, where the poet was born.

A group of citizens appreciating Bashlachev’s talent suggested the city authorities to set up a monument to the musician. The Cherepovets State Duma has approved of the idea to install a four-meter bronze sculpture near the Royal Rio cinema. The musician’s relatives liked the sculpture sketch also.

The sculpture will be financed by sponsors and admirers, while city services will undertake the cares of improving the area surrounding the monument. The first stone in the memorial pedestal will be laid down in May, whereas all sculpture construction works have to be completed by the beginning of November. Now the city portal of Cherepovets is busy with fund raising for the sculpture installation.
