Tourists Are Getting Attracted To Chernobyl
Chernobyl

After the recent roof fall at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant tourists are taking much more interest in the exclusion zone.

On February, 12 there was partial roof and walls fall of a turbine hall of the fourth block above maintenance-free premises. The total area of destruction is about 600 square metres, according to experts. As a safety measure the French companies operating in the area evacuated their employees from the territories of Chernobyl NPP.

According to a number of tourist agencies, right after the information appeared on the Internet they saw a dramatic increase in tourists’ interest in Chernobyl. However, visiting the zone is not quite easy – the procedure of documents’ registration takes more than two weeks. At the moment the tourist agencies are still processing the applications submitted before the accident.
