The Monument To Vodka, a Tourist Attraction In Glazov, Has Been Toppled
The Monument To Vodka

The renowned monument to vodka in the city of Glazov, Udmurtia has been toppled by decision of anti-monopoly commission.

The monument was put up 13 years ago during a celebration of a century anniversary of a local distillery. Years later the regulator decided that the statue is an advertisement of the enterprise. It is interesting that the monument to vodka is not the only one in Udmurtia somehow related to gastronomy. For example in Izhevsk, the capital of the republic, you can find a monument to pelmen. This sculptural composition is still at its place.
