Lomonosov Moscow State University is back in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings, compiled annially by The Times Higher Education and Thompson Reuters.
The MSU is the only Russian higher education institution on the list. In 2012, the university was infamously dropped off the list. The principal reason was stated to be a lack of global renown of the MSU professors and learning programmes. In 2011, the University occupied 33rd spot. According to the 2013 list, it is ranked at #50.
The Top-6 of world's universities in 2013 include, in order, Harvard (100), Massachusets Institute of Technology (87,6), Cambridge (81,3), Oxford (73), Berkeley California (72,4), and Stanford (70).
