The media has been buzzing over confused reports about PayPal’s license to operate in Russia.

Earlier, eBay Inc. proudly announced that the Central Bank of Russia has issued permission for PayPal to expand its business to Russia.

According to the press statement, the e-commerce giant was happy with the result of the two-year work involving numerous meetings with officials of the Central Bank and training and education courses arranged for them.

However, the press release was pulled off several hours later, and there has been no explanation by either party.
