Russian Railways, Vietnamese Railways and the Vietnamese company An Vien have signed an agreement of intent to cooperate on the design and construction of railway infrastructure in Vietnam, report the Russian company.
The Agreement was signed on 11 March 2013 by Vladimir Yakunin, President of Russian Railways, Dat Nguyen Tyong, CEO of Vietnam Railways, and Pham Nhat Vu, Chairman of the Board of Directors at An Vien, which owns important mineral deposits.
The agreement was signed in order to implement Vietnam’s national strategy to develop the country’s railways and confirms the intention of the three signatories to cooperate in implementing a project to build and operate a railway line in South Vietnam.
