The number of daily Internet users in Russia has amounted 43% or 50.1 million people, reports the Public Opinion Fund, based on its research for the period of winter 2012-2013.
In autumn 2012 this figure was only 40% or 46.8 million people. At that in winter 2007-2008 the share of the active users of the Russian Internet, that is people using the Internet at least once a day, was rather less and amounted 12% or 13.1 million people, informs the Fund.
The highest number of Internet users is recorded in Moscow (71%) and St. Petersburg (70%). The North-Western Federal District is leading among Russian Federal Districts with 62% of Internet users, the Uralskiy and the Central Federal Districts hold the second and the third place with 59% and 58% relatively.
