Nuclear Submarines of the Fourth Generation

The company started the manufacturing of a new steering gear for the multi-purpose nuclear submarine "Kazan" of the improved project 885M /code "Yasen-M"/. Severodvinsk shipbuilders will produce the advanced type of steering gear for the "Kazan" nuclear submarine the development of which was conducted by the "SPMBM" Malachite" LLC. It is planned that the production of the steering gear will be completed and equipment will be prepared for interagency testing already this year. The construction of the multi-purpose nuclear submarine "Kazan" began on June 27, 2009.


      

Under the state program of armaments a total of seven "Yasens" should be built by 2020, including six modernized ones – of the 885M Project. The parent nuclear submarine of the 885M Project "Severodvinsk" now undergoes the test program.
