Embalmment of the Body of Chavez

The Russian specialists have the greatest experience of embalmment in the world and in case of an appropriate request from Venezuela will help them in preserving the body of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution Hugo Chavez. The intention of the Venezuelan government "to embalm the body of Chavez forever, so that the people could see it at the Museum of the Revolution" have been announced recently by the vice-president Nicolas Maduro.


The Russian experts was first to embalm the body of Lenin after his death in 1924. Later these technologies were used in the embalmment of the body of Joseph Stalin who died on March 5, like Chavez, but 60 years earlier in the USSR. The embalming and maintaining of the body in the USSR and Russia engages a special laboratory that is now called the Research and Training Center of Biomedical Technologies. The staff of the laboratory not once helped in embalming of bodies of leaders of other countries: Georgi Dimitrov in Bulgaria in 1949, Marshal Choibalsan in Mongolia in 1952, Klement Gottwald in Czechoslovakia in 1953, Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam in 1969, Agostinho Neto in Angola in 1979, the President of Guyana Lyndon Forbes Burnham in 1985, and the North Korean leader Kim Il Sung in 1995.
