Scientists all over the world consider drug abuse to be an incurable disease. But research team from ”Institute for Behaviour Studies” independent non-profit institution believes that drug abuse is a 100% attitude and it can be 100% cured.
      
      The Institute for Behaviour Studies has collaborated with other Russian scientists and developed an original technology for liberating a drug addict from a psychological drug addiction. This technology is already applied in some Russian science institutions.
      
      Said technique has been developed in 1997, but its further promotion and distribution were delayed due to the necessity of long-term processing activities and training experts in this field, which takes about 2-2.5 years. Thus, the Institute is able to train one or two experts per year.
      
      According to the Institute, about 5 hundred people were rescued from drug addiction during the period said technique was used. Institute representatives say that the technique is not a therapy course; it teaches people new behaviour patterns in different situations.
      
      Thus, the technique has more to do with pedagogy and psychology, than with sphere of medicine. No one doubts that the technique is effective; the question is what shall we do with it.
      
      The Institute for Behaviour Studies has sent an official letter to the Chairman of Federal Council, in which suggested delegation of right to use the technique of curing dug addicts to the state on a grant basis.
      
      The ”Institute for Behaviour Studies” independent non-profit institution also believes in a necessity of establishing a centre for social adaptation for people with drug addiction in every Russian region.
      
      The Institute has already opened such centre in Moscow and plans to open the second one in Kostroma till the end of this year. The centre in Moscow is opened since July 2004, and its experts offer help for all drug addicts.
      
      The institute has recently announced successful completion of the pilot project, launched together with experts from Russian Academy of Sciences, Serbsky Institute, and regional and federal authorities. For one month – a record-setting time for curing drug abuse – seven volunteers form Kostroma region have attended courses, which helped them to abandon their drug-taking habit. The results of the experiment, despite its field conditions, have satisfied the scientists. They made sure that this technique cures drug addiction in record-setting time.
