Slovakia will hold a series of presentations of its health resorts in several Russian cities in 2013. Medical tourism is a priority of the Russian-Slovak tourism cooperation.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, the total number of trips taken by the citizens of the Slovak Republic to Russia increased by 18% in 2012, and amounted to 24 161. The tourist flow from Russia increased by 110% and amounted to 12,547 trips. According to the information of the Slovak side, the Russians took the ninth place on the number of trips among other tourist markets in 2012, and the fourth place on the number of overnight stays (mean value - 3.9 nights) on the territory of the republic. The growth of mutual tourist traffic was encouraged by the opening of direct air flights between Russia and Slovakia. Regular flights from Moscow to Bratislava were launched in 2011.
