The Tour, In the Saratov Footsteps of Ostap Bender, Was Created

The Saratov region presented the tour “In the Saratov Footsteps of Ostap Bender".

The route begins at the "Lipki" garden, from Babushkinsky Vzoz, where the ship "Herzen" landed in August 1925. One of the authors of the "Golden Calf" Ilya Ilf "traveled" along Volga on this ship. The route passes by the Officers House (the People's Palace in the past), through the "Lipki garden, and enters the main street of Saratov – Kirova street. It is assumed that a group of tourists may be accompanied by the two actors presenting Ostap Bender and Shura Balaganov.

The visitors are shown the three stores of musical instruments, the Saratov branch of "Proletkino", the Catholic cathedral, the reference material shop, the stamping workshop, the residential house "New Way of Life", as well as the dining room "The Former Friend of the Stomach" and the indoor market mentioned in the "Notebooks" of I. Ilf. Then the tour comes to the house-garage of Z.I.Ivanov with a bas-relief of a racing car on the facade. The tourists are introduced to the history of the house and the personality of its former owner – the Saratov famous racer and a possible prototype of Adam Kozlevich. On this point the journey ends.
