The house with elements of the Russian baroque style at the address 7, Gogol Street has lost its historical status - the court has cancelled the resolution of the Sverdlovsk Region administration about including the building into the register of history and culture monuments.
Defenders of the old city architecture are indignant and urge to organize watch on the site that has been devoid of protection.
Drudgeries of the building that occupies a tidbit of land next to Pokrovsky Passage have been lasting for more than one year. “The house with elements of the Russian baroque in its décor” was for the first time expelled from the range of cultural heritage of Yekaterinburg in November, 2007. However, public men managed to achieve its return to the list of cultural heritage sites of the Sverdlovsk Region in July, 2012. It turned out that it was just for a while.
Public men relate the persistence of the regional government about the house with elements of the Russian baroque in Gogol Street to interests of unfair builders.
