Leonardo DiCaprio‘s and Tom Hanks’s producing companies have teamed up with HBO to shoot a movie about Mikhail Gorbachev, the first and last Soviet president.

      Gorbachev’s name is associated with the notions of glasnost and perestroika but many blame him to losing control of the country and being too liberal.

      Such interest to the Russian Nobel Peace Prize winner is explained by Gorbachev’s relationship with DiCaprio. Gorbachev took part in DiCaprio’s environmental movie The 11th Hour.

      Gorbachev, along with his long-standing interpreter and spokesperson, Pavel Palazhchenko, will act as consultants.
