The 12th International Theatre KINGFESTIVAL will be held in Veliky Novgorod from April 25 to April 29.
Plays will be performed on three stages at the same time - in the regional Philharmonic Hall, Dostoevsky Drama Theater and Maly Theater for Children and Youth, which is the festival organizer.
This year the festival is dedicated to mythology and presents performances for audience of all ages. The poster introduces a wide range of stage productions from biblical myths to Scandinavian legends.
Within five days Novgorod viewers will see 23 performances by theaters from 14 countries: Russia, Denmark, Japan, Turkey, France, Belgium, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Great Britain, Switzerland, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Spain. Among stage productions the theatre visitors will see those, which have not been performed in Russia yet. They will be brought from France, Bulgaria, and Belgium.
The Kingfestival has been held since 1992 and today is one of the leading events in cultural life of the region; within these years its program has been visited by more than 120 theaters of the world. The festival is supported by more than twenty cultural foundations and embassies.
