Kaluga Region may Acquire its Own Anthem

The bill On Anthem of the Kaluga Region has been approved by the majority of deputies on April 12 at the sitting of the Committee on Public Administration and Local Government of Regional Parliament.

The project provides that the regional anthem will sound during entry into the office of the regional governor, during opening and closing of sessions of the Legislative Assembly and during the official ceremony of hoisting the flag of the Kaluga Region.

Besides, the anthem can be performed during unveiling of monuments and memorable signs related to the major events in life of the area and municipalities of the region, as well as when carrying out ceremonies in honour of state holidays.

The lyrics of the anthem were provided by the Kaluga poetess Marina Ulybysheva, whereas the music was composed by the regional Culture Minister Alexander Tipakov.
