Exhibition of Artist Pavel Nikonov Opened in Moscow

Kovcheg Gallery welcomes to the exhibition Then and Now of the artist Pavel Nikonov.

Art works by Pavel Nikonov have long been kept in the major Russian museums – including his famous painting Geologists in the permanent exposition of the Tretyakov Gallery, for the first time displayed at the legendary and scandalous exhibition for the 30th anniversary since the Moscow Union of Artists in the Moscow Manege in 1962.

The present member of Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts Pavel Nikonov has been strongly registered in the history of post-war “left” art: thanks to his old participation in the Vosem group, in the company with Vladimir Vaisberg, Mikhail Ivanov, Boris Birger and other considerable artists.

The exhibition runs till April 30.
