Russian opposition activists have sent an official notification to Moscow authorities about holding a rally on May 6, at the anniversary of scandalous "Millions March" 2012. The organizers plan to direct the rally from Kaluzhskaya to Bolotnaya squares, the same route as it was last year.
The opposition plans to gather 30 thousands people for the rally. The main slogan of the action is "For Freedom!" An assembly time will be at 5 p.m. Moscow time, in front of the "Oktyabrskaya" metro station. At 6 p.m. columns of demonstrators will start heading for Bolotnaya square. The beginning of the meeting is planned at 7 p.m.
Several violent conflicts between the participants of "Millions March" rally and the Moscow police took place on May 6, 2012, which resulted in injured persons from both sides and mass arrests.
About 30 people are currently named defendants in so-called “Bolotnaya case”, facing charges ranging from inciting mass unrest to using violent force against law enforcement officials.
Russia's Committee of Inquiry names Leonid Razvozhaev, Sergei Udaltsov, Konstantin Lebedev and Georgian politician Givi Targamadze to be organizers of riots. Lebedev has already admitted his guilt.
