Finland’s Fennovoima and Rosatom are set to launch direct talks on supplies of Russian units for a new Finnish nuclear power plant to be launched into operation in 2020.
Russia’s state corporation for the development of nuclear power, Rosatom, confirmed the news.
In February 2013, Fennovoima announced it was looking for a supplier for its NPPs. The potential contractors included Rosatom, France’s Areva and Japan’s Toshiba.
The high quality of Russian technologies is well known in Finland thanks to the Loviisa NPP, Rosatom said.
