Rada & Ternovnik Band Dedicates New Album to Ukok Plateau

Rada & Ternovnik band and the merited artiste of Russia Nogon Shumarov have jointly recorded a new album Ukok in defense of the same-name plateau in Altai.

The Altai gas pipeline, which is planned to be laid through the territory of Mountain Altai to connect gas fields in Western Siberia with China, will be stretched from Urengoy to Shanghai.

Russia and China signed the main conditions of gas supplies back in September, 2010. Numerous ecological and public organizations have been asking for many years to change the gas pipeline route, so that it would not spoil the World natural heritage site - the Ukok Plateau located in Altai Republic. In their opinion, construction of the gas pipeline will do irreparable harm to the nature and archaeological monuments of the plateau.
