The first ice palace called "Crystal" was opened on the Sakhalin island in its principal city Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

The palace has an arena with the sizes of 60х30 m and a platform of 1526 seats, a workout room, rooms for aerobics and body-conditioning, buffet, as well as other auxiliary and engineering and utility services rooms. First of all "Crystal" is destined for working with children. The young inhabitants of Sakhalin will have a possibility to practice seven sports: ice hockey, figure skating, boxing, weightlifting, competitive gymnastics, sport dancing and chess.
