The Hermitage Museum: Without Dirt And Graffiti

The Hermitage Museum cleaning will cost 5 million roubles.


      

The State Hermitage Museum has placed an order for conducting cleaning and washing of the museum buildings facade. According to the museum website, the initial contract cost is 5 million roubles. In total it is planned to clean 41 thousand of square meters of Big and Little Hermitage facades area, as well as of Winter Palace, Hermitage Theatre and New Hermitage. According to the requirements specification, all the decorative elements of these buildings, window framings, dischargers, arrays are to be cleaned too. The buildings will be washed with special powders that don’t have any smells and that are meant for concrete, natural stone and plaster surfaces washing. The Hermitage buildings are to be cleared out of seasonal dirt and covered with a special layer that protects facades from water, grease stains, oil, graffiti and atmospheric pollutions. The works on facades cleaning will be carried out in spring and autumn of the current year.
