In June of 2013, government-owned corporation RZD (Russian Railways) intends to launch a new rail car transporter in the passenger train set on the line from Moscow to St Petersburg.

This line was selected for this program for two reasons: road congestion of this route and due to popularity among passengers. After the appearing of rail car transporters on the line from Moscow to Helsinki, this project will also be implemented on the domestic territory of the Russian Federation.

It is planned that the program will operate in such lines as, Moscow - Astrakhan and Moscow - Sochi. The possibility of setting up a similar service with Ukraine is being discussed
