May 1 marked the 85th anniversary since the birthday of the well-known Petersburg film director Vitaly Melnikov.
While congratulating the film director the guests noted that he was only 10 years younger than Lenfilm, where he has worked for half a century. The legendary film studio turned 95 years old on April 30.
The hero of the anniversary admitted that he was very excited and pointed out that his jubilee is the jubilee of Lenfilm because every film is a fruit of work of a great number of people, and these are years of life.
A lot of things have remained for this exhibition. These include posters of the first comedy made by the film director in Lenfilm Studio - the short-length film Barbos on a Visit to Doggy – and artist Isaak Kaplan’s sketches for it, costumes from Imperial Hunting and sketches by another remarkable artist Bella Manevich-Kaplan, photos of working moments of shootings, old telegrams, and so on.
“Everything is made gracefully, beautifully, precisely, and reasonably” - Vitaly Melnikov thanked the exhibition organizers.
The exhibition runs till May 15.
