An exhibition of antique photos has been opened in Ivan Turgenev’s State Memorial Estate Spasskoye-Lutovinovo.
It is located in the patrimonial estate of the writer in the Mtsensk District of the Oryol Region.
The exhibition presents photos from collections of the State Literary Museum and the Spasskoye-Lutovinovo Memorial Estate. Visitors will have a chance to see over 150 exhibits, including photo portraits of such illustrious persons as Ivan Turgenev, Fyodor Tyutchev, Leo Tolstoy, Pauline Viardot, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and others.
Here one can also see what Oryol estates looked like in the 19th-20th centuries. Among the exhibits there are not only professional works, but also amateur pictures. Besides, as the museum reports, the exhibition comprises “diaries, notebooks, paraphernalia and household items that belonged to people who surrounded Ivan Turgenev”.
The exhibition runs till May 20, 2013.
