May 5 saw a fire in Pokrovo-Vlasyevsky Church in the Gavrilovsky Village, the Kargopol District of the Arkhangelsk Region.
The wooden church building is a part of the only threefold ensemble that has remained in the Kargopol District, and one of the four such ensembles preserved in Russia.
By the time firefighters arrived the church dome had been already completely captured by fire. They managed to localize the fire at midnight. As assumed, the fire outbreak was caused by a lightning.
Construction of the Pokrovo-Vlasiyevsky Church is dated to 1761.
