Rosneft’s and Gazprom’s shares edged up on rumours of higher dividends on May 8.

A spike in investor interest followed a report by Bloomberg where three government sources hinted that dividend payments by state-controlled corporations may go up from the current 25 to 35 percent of profit.

According to Bloomberg, the increased flow is supposed to increase budget revenue.

However, the officials from the Ministry of Economic Development or the Finance Ministry did not confirm the news.
