The Snowflake animated film by the Russian director Natalia Chernysheva has been recognized the best at the international Golden Kuker animation festival in Sofia.
Chernysheva's work has taken two prizes - the Grand Prix and a prize as the best animation for children.
The Snowflake tells a story about a boy from Africa, who receives a letter from his friend with a paper-cut snowflake and then miracles start happening.
The Golden Kuker animation festival has been held annually since 2010.
This year the animation festival took place from May 7 to May 12, with more than 120 works competing for prizes in various nominations.
The festival is organized by the Bulgarian Association of Independent Animators for promotion of national animated films and support of young and independent authors.
