May 23 will see the opening of the exhibition Art and Religion in Space of Modern Culture in the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery.
It is a scientific and educational museum exhibition program, which aims at consolidating artists, scientists, and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church in discussion of actual problems of the development of modern culture, ways of overcoming dehumanization of social space, search of new art forms of understanding the spiritual heritage of Russia.
The main objective of the project is to consider modern religious art of Russia in the context of heritage of centuries-old Christian tradition, the historical link and continuity “the Byzantine Empire – Russia”, to track interpenetration and cultural exchange in the 21st century.
The exhibition runs till June 30.
