Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin’s career is uncertain, with Zenit St Petersburg refusing to sign on their former star.
Arshavin, 31, left Zenit in 2009 after a stellar performance in Euro 2008, where Russia became third, but after a couple of successful seasons lost his top form, to the dismay of Arsene Wenger and the fans.
Talking to journalists on Friday, Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti was skeptical about his return.
Arshavin’s contract with Arsenal is expiring next month.
Rumours have it that he might be leaving England for Turkey’s Besiktas.
