Marble Palace of Petersburg is hosting Mikhail Shemyakin’s photo exhibition Sidewalks of Paris dedicated to search of unusual plots and artistic images in usual street garbage.
The exhibition comprises pictures taken by the artist within 12 years. All these years Mikhail Shemyakin has been wandering around streets of Paris and photographed cast away papers, crushed leaves, stubs, spots of paint, cracks, smudges of dog urine, bark of trees, spots on house walls, and the like. In the finished shooting shots he looked for fantastic images, plots and grotesque characters, which he then traced on opaque prints with pastel and ink. Altogether the exhibition presents about 200 works.
The exhibition will run till August 5.
