1Q 2013 saw a slight decline in the number of advertisers in Russia, according to a TNS survey published by RBC daily.

The figure dropped just one percent to 34,794. The print suffered the biggest slump of 4.1 percent, while online advertising rallied 0.4 percent.

Pharmaceuticals and food additives top the list of items being advertised, boosted by a 20 percent budget increase.

Earlier, the Health Ministry proposed to ban commercials of medicines in Russia, citing self-treatment fears and aggressive ad campaigns by major producers.
