Yermak Monument Unveiled in Chusovoy

A monument to the conqueror of Siberia, the Cossack ataman Yermak Timofeyevich has been unveiled near a new sports complex in Chusovoy town of the Perm Territory

This event became the culmination of a big holiday in honor of the 80th anniversary of the town and the 445th anniversary of economic development of Chusovoy lands and the 10th interregional forum The Russian World.

The pedestal of the bronze monument has a plate with the inscription: “To Yermak, a valorous patriot of Russia from residents of Chusovoy”. The author of the monument is the Perm architect and sculptor Alexey Matveyev. By the way, Yermak’s name in Chusovoy was already immortalized in the name of the highway bridge over River Chusovaya and the lane name earlier.
