A monument to the outstanding Soviet writer and poet Aleksandr Tvardovsky will be unveiled in Strastnoy Boulevard in Moscow on June 22.

The monument sculptor is the national artist of Russia Vladimir Surovtsev. Three-meter figure of the poet was cast in Smolensk in 2011.

n June 21 the anniversary since the birthday of Aleksandr Tvardovsky will be celebrated in his homeland, Zagorye farm. A literature evening and a concert will be held there. 

Besides, the traditional ceremony of Aleksandr Tvardovsky Award will take place. This year Peter Ivanovich Privalov has become its winner.
